Diagnosis
Extremely similar to the former B. lidderdalii, but distinguishable by broader wings, narrower yellow margin at hindwings and lighter colouration in red patches on hindwing.
Distribution
This species is only known from the Trashiyangsi Valley of Bhutan. The record from Yuennan Prov. of China by Cho (1994) has been doubted as a fake record (Koiwaya, 1995).
Habitat and Ecology
The ecological requirements of this species are still poorly known. The only information is that they inhabit in temperate broad-leaved primary forests above 2300-2500 m.
