外殼特徵 Shell subtriangular to subovate, very solid, convex toinflated, inequilateral; beaks high often subcompressed,turned forward over a small lunule, with feeble,subnodulous sculpture; posterior ridge well developed.Surface with irregular growth lines. Pseudocardinals low,subradial, ragged, two in the left valve, one to three in theright valve; lateral heavy, double in the left valve, partlydouble in the right; muscle scar small, impressed; nacrewhite, silvery, iridescent behind, thicker in front.

備註 The species is listed as endangered species under Taiwan'sWildlife Conservation Law (WCL). This species was listedin the CITES Appendix I on 1st July 1975. It was alsonamed as Lemiox rimosus. Photo-specimen was collectedfrom the Duck River, Marshall Co., Tennessee, USA, andinventory in INHS 16840-7。
