外殼特徵
Shell reaching 150mm in length; triangularly ovate inoutline; angle formed at umbo by margins of hinge lines andventral border usually less than 150o; moderately to stronglyinflated and having an extremely large byssal orifice.
地理分布
Western coast of the Malay Peninsula easterward toMicronesia and southern Japan to northern Australia. Liveson reef flats and coral heads in water from a few inches toseveral fathoms in depth. Usually it is found deeplyensconced in coral pockets, the free margins of its valvesnearly flush with the substrate.
模式產地
The type locality "l'Ocean Indien" given by Lamarck isrestricted to the Philippines since available records indicatethat the range of T. crocea barely extends into the IndianOcean.
